South Point Abbey, Ahangama, An 5old Dutch house which has been carefully restored retaining its gracious charm of a bygone era. The walls built of coral and limestone by master craftsmen almost two centuries ago remain intact.

Tastefully furnished with valuable classical and modern furniture, it is an elegant yet informal home.
 
1st Floor - Boarded wooden floors.

Bedrooms two – each with a king size four poster bed draped with mosquito nets, air conditioning & fan. Large French windows open out to a spacious deck, attached bathrooms have rain fall showers, hot and cold water on tap.

Living area - furnished with comfortable leather sofas, a TV & music system. Large French windows open out to a spacious deck.

Deck –furnished with elegant classical and modern furniture has a stunning view of the ocean.

Ground Floor - laid with antique terra cotta tiles

Bed room - A double bed with mosquito net, air conditioning and fan, attached bathroom with his and her wash basin, rain fall shower, hot and cold water on tap.

Studywith a fan, which can be converted to an extra room if necessary.
 
Kitchen - A modern kitchen that guests if they wish, could use to prepare dishes they fancy or instruct the chef as to exactly how they want meals prepared.

From mid January to end September one can step down from the Abbey garden to the soft sandy beach. Between October to the 1st week of January, on certain days, it is a short walk to the beach. Occasionally sounds of passing vehicles can be heard.

Pool - An infinity pool with Jacuzzi bench.

The garden is a sylvan glade. Close to the sea and yet verdantly green with mangroves and trees through which one gets tantalizing views of turquoise blue ocean. The sea is safe for swimming and excellent for snorkelling.

The garden steps down to the beach through a grove of trees. Birds and butterflies shelter here during season giving photo opportunities to those interested in bird and butterfly watching.

Dining is an experience.

Meals can be served wherever you prefer - in the dining room, verandah or garden.
The staff take pride in laying a picture perfect table complete with fresh flowers.

Breakfast - There are no set times for meals throughout your stay. Meals are served whenever you are ready. If you have an early morning schedule, it is advisable to inform the staff of your particular villa the evening before, so they can wake you up at the appropriate time with a tray of tea or coffee.
The villas serve a breakfast of fresh fruits, fresh tropical fruit juice, tea or coffee with milk.
The main course for breakfast is Western fare of eggs with sausages or bacon, croissants/pancakes/ bread or toast. butter and jams
Sri Lankan breakfast specialties kiribath (coconut milk rice) or roti or string hoppers, or plain hoppers made of rice flour with curry as accompaniments.

Barbeques, fresh lobster, jumbo prawns, crabs, and fish are villa specialties.
Fresh Lobster has to be ordered 24 hours ahead to give time for divers to collect them.

Try local tropical fruits and fruit juice on a daily basis with fresh curds and coconut treacle for health conscious guests.
Fruits are purchased direct from plantations or farmers.

A range of cuisine is available from Western to Sri Lankan.

There is a wide range of a la carte menu choices available.

You are most welcome to discuss your meals with the chef and order accordingly.

You do not have to worry about purchasing provisions, all purchases will be done by the supervisor.

You are most welcome to bring in your own alcohol and wines.

Kitchen
Each home has - a centrally located well appointed kitchen. You can walk into and prepare your own food with the help of the chef or watch him prepare gourmet dishes.
