All rooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans. Temperatures at night are comfortable with cooling breezes off the ocean. As for dining Ambalama offers a feast of choices; eating at home enjoy international or local cuisine prepared by Their in-house chef served by their courteous house boys. Enjoy a BBQ with lobsters caught off the beach or superb fresh fish from the local market caught daily. This is your holiday and, unlike in hotels, you can be involved or not in the cuisine preparation including joining the chef to buy the fresh fish and produce. At Ambalama there are no schedules for mealtimes. Nearby along the coast or in Galle there is excellent choice of restaurants, all within 10-15 mins drive.

Each bedroom opens onto a lawn terrace affording privacy. The manicured garden fringed by coconut palms is a wonderful place to relax and rest.

The Sinharaja Rainforest Reserve is only an hour away and further afield are the Uda Walawe National Park and the Yala National Park, home of the rare leopard.
During the past few years the Galle Literary Festival held in the second half of January has attracted many world famous authors. For sports lovers the Galle cricket ground hosts Test matches and the annual elephant polo tournament is not to be missed.
